J U – J I T S U
Long ago it started with Ju-Jitsu (Overijse 1987): on the mat, discovering the beauty of the circular, evasive movements and the unconditional respect for the other. I still admire the spiritual side of this martial art: you can only defend, never attack.
It is challenging to dose the control of the evasion according to the attack. It asks a lot of physical efforts but especially also a special mental attitude. And I loved the ‘no competition’ – mentality during my Ju-jitsu courses.
For ten years I have practiced and studied this martial art with great passion. Looking back, this sport has become a solid basis for my further attitude to life.

I read a lot of Ju-Jitsu books during my training years and made acquaintance with Shiatsu massage. It was clear to me that Shiatsu was the path I had to follow in the future. During my Shiatsu courses I discovered that Shiatsu was the perfect healing treatment when you got (unintentionally) hurt in a Ju-Jutsi training.

After years of practicing Ju-Jutsi & Shiatsu I discovered in the Shiatsu litterature Watsu. It is a form of water therapy based on a Shiatsu massage (nose above the water!) in a welness bath. During my third year of Watsu education I was very happy to follow some courses by Harold Dull, the American Watsu founder. He discovered that muscles & tissues relax better in water and so Shiatsu techniques were more effective when done in hot water. That was an unforgettable experience and a pleasant bonus to finish my Watsu education

After Watsu comes Wata (with the nose under water). Wata has a clear, extra added value on the total experience in the warm water: you are completely immersed, the water effect is “total”, without judgment and so much more intense.

Massage can give a total physical relaxation, a tantra massage goes into the depth and is an encounter with your real wishes & limits. Letting go in a honest and safe way, daring to look at yourself, feeling your real emotions and healing with your heart & body.

Working with ropes has always ‘tied’ me. Like Yoga and Tantra, Shibari has also travelled to the West for some time. There are different schools, but Shibari based on beauty and even more on emotions, suits me best.
Precisely thanks to a safe setting you can surrender completely and feel / be even more intense, feel / be free, ‘no mind’, enjoy blissfully.
Together, I will accompany you on this beautiful journey with yourself.
